That is a very cool vid! I've always wanted to hop in a time machine and see the place in its heyday.

Not YouTube, and not by me, but a friend sent me this link to a really quite extraordinary video of a recent Baldy climb (by Timo, whom some of you might know from the Peakbaggers MeetUp group):

The camera work and editing are amateurish, but the music and video quality is awesome. It really captures the grandeur and majesty of a Baldy climb. I am sharing it with my friends who don't climb, to give them an idea of what it's like up there.

I saw an awesome Fred Beckey climbing video on another forum
He is still climbing at age 88, and has more first ascents than any other American mountaineer

I was playing around with the camera at Stoney Point and found an insane gentlemen named Owen, who was kind enough to let me film him. Here's my 30 second short... who's going next?
At least I didn't have to unwind the rope.

Ah, yes, the Australian forward rappel. Gotta like that. The air mobile units in the Army talked about the Aussies. They said they would come in face first, firing as they went. Pretty ballsy if you ask me.

To *his* right? Past the bees/wasps whatever those are? I was rigged up to that crack for a while getting some of this footage. Stoney Point is such a blast.

Yup, the S Gully or soemthing, listed as a 5.3. Did some work with Ventura SAR there a long time ago. Went back this week to climb it, but it was wet so anchoring got creative (did not use bolts, soft sandstone, you know the deal).

Kids, do not try this at home. Better yet, don't ever try this anywhere.
Nice camera work though...

That is some sweet aussie rappling, but he needs a pistol, rifle or mace(not the spray but the medieval style)....balaclava optional, but some sort of weapon when doing the aussie rap is needed!Without it,it is just gumby sport rappeling :O
Or better yet he needs to be doing it while on fire!
