Hey Everyone,
I'll be in So Cal doing an A16 slideshow tour and am planning to hike Baldy on October 23. If anyone is interested in joining me we'll be meeting at the Manker Flats trailhead at 6 AM. This should give us enough time for a nice hike. I'll be giving my slideshow at Adventure 16 in Costa Mesa that evening.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me here or drop me an email at kurtwedberg@sierramountaineering.com.

Anyone going to hear Kurt's talk on Monday?
West Los Angeles Store: Mon., Oct. 27, 7 p.m.
It's about an hour for me to get out there (in traffic) which is a pain, but if others were going...
Carpool anyone? I work in Pasadena. Anyone in Eagle Rock, Glendale?

I want to see the talk and the West LA one is my only option. I am happy to carpool. Send me a PM and wew can exchange GPS coordinates for where to meet.Hikin_Jim wrote:Anyone going to hear Kurt's talk on Monday?

NiceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHikeUp wrote:16 hikers, 1 strange visit from a helicopter on the peak, 2 Bighorn Sheep, absolutely no wind - good times. Thanks Kurt.
Wish I was there.
Sounds like a fun hike.
The helicopter was looking for Aliens again! Maybe practice runs?
It's happened to me before as well, they come out of now where circle like they are landing then take off for whatever reason. Not the same thing as having a 51 Mustang Buzz me at 50 feet and I almost Sh#$ myself on the backside of Saddleback.

I put a trip report on Richard P's board. I was hoping that Richard was in that helicopter with a celebratory feast. (We were actually hoping that he got MooseTracks to prepare said feast.) He had posted on the WPS board that we should expect a surprise guest.HikeUp wrote:16 hikers, 1 strange visit from a helicopter on the peak, 2 Bighorn Sheep, absolutely no wind - good times. Before you join the "real world" you need to see Office Space.JMunaretto wrote:Hey don't you guys have jobs?!

Oh I have...why do you think I've been avoiding the 'real world' up to this point?!!
You're ahead of the game, then.JMunaretto wrote:Oh I have...why do you think I've been avoiding the 'real world' up to this point?!!
Yesterday, in talking about how many people from the hike missed (as opposed to merely missed) work, Kurt was doing a pretty good imitation of the main character from Office Space.
Why weren't you skipping class? Was hoping you'd show up.JMunaretto wrote:Hey don't you guys have jobs?!
FIGHT ON,
Please stop posting random links, especially ones for Youtube. Don't push it, OK?

That would be nice except I had to teach a class Thursday. I guess I should have left a sign that just said "Gone Hiking".HikeUp wrote:Why weren't you skipping class? Was hoping you'd show up.JMunaretto wrote:Hey don't you guys have jobs?!
