A 53-year-old man died Saturday morning after suffering a medical emergency on the Mount Wilson Trail in the San Gabriel Valley, authorities said.

The deceased has been identified as Mark Smythe, a composer for the movies.
His score for Hulu’s “The Reef: Stalked” was nominated for awards in both America and Europe. According to his IMDb page, Smythe worked as a composer on other films including “Unfallen,” “Love You Like That” and “Boar,” among others.
