Still not sleeping well and my cardio is severely lacking so I wanted something moderate but the weather is warm or roads are closed or trails are crowded. In 2024 I went from the Nordic Center to Mt Pinos, Sawmill, Sheep Camp, and then attempted to reach Lily Meadows but ran out of energy and time so I aborted a mile from Lily Meadows.
So I opted to connect to where I had left off but starting at the BSA camp. The warmer temps and poor cardio led me to take frequent breaks so I did some pruning in a few sections while catching my breath. Totals 10.2 miles 1600' gain.

-
- BSA fort
-
- BSA area
-
- Any idea what causes these formations?
-
- First mile looks like this (little to no shade)
-
- Cool future ridge hike?
-
- The route is a dirt road for first couple of miles but watch your step as this bisected the road completely
-
- There was still water flowing in much of the creek
-
- Wonder what the old sign looked like?
-
- Above the waterfall looking back toward trailhead
-
- Purple lupine are starting to pop everywhere
-
- In just under 4 miles you reach Lily Meadows
-
- I took a three minute break here before continuing up the trail
-
- This is a really beautiful area
-
- It's Log, it's Log
It's big, it's heavy
It's wood!
It's Log, it's Log
It's better than bad
It's good!
-
- This guy kept moving and vocalizing its displeasure with my entering its territory
-
- This was my turnaround spot where I had left off two years ago from above. It's about 1 mile past Lily Meadows.
-
- Nice mix of new & old trees
-
- Moon doing its thing
-
- Another part of Lily Meadows CG
-
- Last look at the table on my descent
-
- Section of the trail as you enter back into the narrow canyon
-
- Anyone know the story with this person?

-
- This is the only really dicey section (notice the rope on the right).
-
- Closer view of the rope. I didn't think it was necessary and I don't trust random ropes usually.
-
- This is the top of the steep section looking down. It gain about 225' in 0.3 miles.
-
- And I detoured to the waterfall on my way back to my vehicle.
I looked into it and this gives an overview of those type of formation.
