I hadn't done any hiking for three weeks and too hot most places so I went to Frazier Park. Then I decided to try a challenge by going from the parking lot to Sawmill entirely off-trail. I basically just stuck to the same elevation so I moved laterally for most of the four miles. About 8.5 miles w/ 1400' gain.

Looks so nice. At this point I'm always surprised to see unburnt forest. Find anything more than prints?

Nope, just the prints, fresh air, and solitude.

It's just a big pile of rocks at the top of Sawmill Mt. It's nice up there.

The wind wall fireplace and three chairs is about 500' east of the summit pile. Some people spent some time making those things! It's is beautiful up there.
