West Fork Trail Weekday “Closure”

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about how strict the weekday “closure” of the West Fork San Gabriel River bike path is.

I know it’s officially closed (as of 2025) during the week from April - December. But I’ve driven by it several times recently (Aug / Sept) on weekdays and have seen lots of people parked in the parking lot there.

Does anyone know if they enforce this weekday closure at all? Might be worth risking it… but I heard that they greatly increased the fine if you don’t have an adventure pass.

given the current govt shutdown I highly doubt there would be any enforcement there on weekdays. Thanks for your thoughts!

Back in April a friend and friend of that friend who is a friend hiked the road from 39 to bear creek during the week, passed a couple cars, people swimming in the west fork, etc. seemed pretty chill.
