So there’s a trail that descends the west side of Dawson towards Fish Fork. I’ve not been on it before. Looks faint on satellite imagery. Have you been there?

It be here: https://mapper.acme.com/?ll=34.30495,-1 ... Hills%20CA

I've been wanting to do that for years. There is (was?) a sign on top of the baldy-dawson-pine ridge pointing the way to the trail. It's one of many old logging roads up there. There're a number of old reports; Elwood was gone there for instance, but nothing recent. I think it burned. Want to go?

I’m planning on going this weekend. Riding from Palmdale as usual so I will probably get there Monday afternoon or so. Reckon I’ll be bivying “south of wrightwood”, if you will.

Are you the local legend on the Palmdale train?

Years ago it wasn't practical to follow, I can't imagine what it must look like now. With the fire you'll probably be able to just make your way down however you'd like.

Yeah I bet it’s probably east to move through right now, before the buckthorn takes over.

Dima, how’d you guess?!?
