Hello everyone, I am going to attend this and it seems super interesting! Bob Cates was good friends with John Robinson so he must know some cool things. The event is not published on the website yet however but someone from the Sierra Club told me that it is happening.

Looks interesting - Do we need to reserve a spot?

Apparently it's first come first serve but there's an optional way to RSVP when they actually post it on their site

Here's a link to the event tomorrow! https://act.sierraclub.org/events/detai ... 118.151474 The RSVP thingy isn't working for me but I think we can just show up and it will be fine.

It's requiring me to check the box labeled as "only select if joining meeting via zoom".
Perhaps that means that all the seats are taken?

It helpfully checked the box for me, and I'm now registered to not actually go over there. Which I'm probably not going to do. Anybody know what's up?

Matthew said he talked with someone at SC and their website was not working correctly. He said we could just show up so I'm planning to do that.
I'm also registered to see it via zoom...

Here's a screenshot of the email with the organizer. He said RSVPing isn't necessary

It was pretty great! Felt like a night at the Adventurers' Club in some ways. The big takeaways are

- The Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club historian (Bob Cates) went through a tons of old photos and various materials
- He digitized a ton of photos; they live here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/183926019@N08/albums/
- He also uploaded lots of documents to archive.org: https://archive.org/search?query=subjec ... Chapter%22
- He's continuing to process materials, and can use help
