Hello hello hello everyone! I am super excited to share that I have created a website dedicated to climbing in the San Gabriels called www.angelesclimbing.com

The goal of the site is to share climbing spots, boulders, and crags without sharing their explicit location while encouraging exploration and the user's own route creation to reach the spots. The angeles has tons of obscure rock that's either super hard to get to or not considered "good enough" for the average climber from LA. I don't think we should gatekeep these random rocks scattered about, but we should be transparent about their difficulty to be reached and to highlight that aspect of the journey.

If you'd like to contribute any spots, send me a message! Any rock of any quality is welcome here!

Maybe someday I'll put up some hard peak climbs or class 3 stuff up but we shall seeeee.

Waterman West Widge (WWW) is located on the western widge of Mt. Waterman to the east of Castle Waterman and west of Mt. Waterman. For those wondering, a “widge” is a wide ridge. There’s many clumps of boulders and towers with mostly featureless rock. Getting here requires a ridge climb up 1200ft before reaching a boulder-filled widge. There are a few clearings with small groups of rock littered with cool cracks and tons of possibilities. The rock is granite if y’all were wondering.

Coffee Shop Boulder
Located on the south side of the widge below all the towers.

Tower Defense Rock
Located north of the WWW and south southeast of the day use parking area toilet maybe 1250ft. A small cluster of rock with an obvious blank face if approaching from below. Would love to see some good climbers try the roof on this thing!
