Nothing particularly new here other than the re-establishment of Owen Brown's headstone atop Little Roundtop, but still cool and interesting local history nonetheless.

There used to be a member here who was an attorney and his son produced stuff like this for KCET as I recall. Really great content. Need more of that.

Scroll down to Episode 6. It's about a 25 minute listen.

I know this will sound a little like a trip report, but i don't really intend it that way.

I made the pilgrimage to Owen Brown's grave Sunday afternoon. Instead of parking at the end of El Prieto Road and walking up the road, I started in the Arroyo Seco, went up El Prieto Canyon, and then backtracked back down Brown Mtn. Road/2N68 to Little Round Top. The Owen Brown Gravesite Committee has done a nice job of restoring the site and adding informative signage.

Afterwards, I followed Brown Mtn Road to the Fern Canyon Truck Trail (2N66) just to extend the day and to get a look at Little Round Top from further up. The water is still flowing both in El Prieto Canyon and the Arroyo Seco.

A note on access: the first time I tried to get up to Little Round Top from the top of El Prieto Road, the property owner in the last home on the left (Mary Traylor) chased me off claiming I was trespassing on a private drive. I didn't know it at the time, but later learned that although indeed the drive is private, there is an adjudicated public right of way across the drive for access to the trails above. Mrs. Traylor knows this as she was involved in the litigation brought by Paul Ayers and Altadena Heritage in the early 2000s that confirmed the public right of way, but she still harasses folks nonetheless. If you go, don't let her bully you. She can't stop you from utilizing the public right of way no matter how much it irks her.
