Continuing with my Whitney training, yesterday I hiked to Mt Baldy via Register Ridge trail. I'm giving myself credit for reaching the top of the ridge faster than the last time I was there and summing Baldy quicker too.

I've been struggling with trying to go faster and it's really depressing so yesterday I decided screw it! As long as I make it to the top of Whitney that's all that matters.

As I descended Ski Hut trail it got really hot. I took a break cooled off at the spring re-filled my water bottles.

Anyways, it was a beautiful day on Mt Baldy. Nice breezes at the top and only a few hikers.

This is summit 18? Are you tracking all you ascents of all peaks? Where have you been to the most times?

Here's Bob Pickering's 40th Mt Whitney Summit report. You're in good company!

I've only done Baldy twice, via Notch Backbone and via Pine-Dawson Backbone. Both were overnight trips, and the drive was the most arduous part of the ascent. :D

Dima- Baldy is in second place. The peak I have submitted the most is West Fuji. 50 times and I love that trail the Lone Tree trail that Sean restored.

I like Register Ridge because it has way fewer people. I've but up once, but I liked it and different views.

Baldy is a great trainer. I also like Gorgonio by any route as a trainer.

Good luck with Whitney.
