Video:

He219 and I went up Falling Rock Canyon to check out a secret crag. The crag ain't secret anymore. It's the first quality stuff you see on the left when heading upcanyon. There is other quality stuff around, but the closer you get to the saddle between Sugarloaf and Ontario, the less there is.

We located the crag from Mother Rock Magazine (Email publication from the 1990's).

He219 put on his new Five Ten Piton climbing shoes and headed up a feature. He free-solo'd it. Not bad. 8) We went back up it, with me leading and placing pro at my usual snail's pace. Easy placements for all-passive pro.

We had a fun time, but the area did not warrant a second day.

Fritz took some badass pictures.

So using twin ropes prevents deaths?

Check this out: Climbing Ropes Explained

And what guy are you writing about?
Btw, hikers are also known to mortally succumb to the perils on our trails ..

A portaledge obviously wasn't required, but it would be the SAFEST way to spend a night up there because of rockfall danger!

Sheep Canyon is next. It's a lot different.

Good pix and vids, guys. Very cool bugz too. :)

Yo, Taco, why is that one photo labelled illusion? It really looks like Ramen to me.

HAH

Jim, the water looked to be tilted one way, and the stove/pot the other. Looked screwy in person.
