Meteor Shower from Mt Baldy Aug 12/13

According to this thread on Summitpost there should be a meteor shower on August 12/13. Some folks are spending the night on the summit. I might start at Manker Flats at 3 am or soon after.

Can't make midweek, but sounds like a cool idea. The shower peaks on the 12th and is called the Perseid originating from the comet Swift-Tuttle. Hope for a thick marine layer to block the light from LA.

I saw a big one over the top of Baldy while driving up the road Saturday. HUGE!

the moon will be pretty bright that night...
next year will be better

last summer for the perseod showers i was on the JMT
i was at cathedral lake and i seen a huge fireball thing that broke
up into a bunch of pieces...it was awesome....

I was considering going if I can find a decent backpack to go up with that will carry my sleeping bag. The one I have now isn't big enough for overnights 8(.
