Hello! I’m hoping to hike the Angeles Crest Loop in a couple of weeks (assuming the Bobcat closure really ends next week). I do have an out and back route as a backup from Crystal Lake to Baden-Powell and back, hitting the peaks on the way.
Wondering if anyone has a recent report on snow levels in that area?

I rode to the top of South Mt Hawkins last week. There was snow up to about a foot deep on north facing slopes. I also hiked to Bighorn Mine last weekend and it seems there's still plenty of snow above about 7k, again on north facing slopes.

I would expect snow on your route. I would bring a light axe, 10 or 12pt crampons, maybe waterproof footwear and or gaiters. That's what I have and find most practical so whatever you think is close to that is good.
