On the second day of our three-day trip to the Eastern Sierras, we hiked in Mammoth. We began at the Tamarack Lodge. We had to share portions of the trail with skiers. I had never experienced anything like this where the trail was actually divided with one side for hikers and one side for skiers.

Anyways, we hiked to Lake Mary and Lake Mamie. All the lakes were frozen of course but covered with snow. OMG! There was so much snow! We passed some cabins that were almost completely buried in it.

We were fortunate to have nice weather and beautiful blue skies. The snow shoe experience was a first for me and breaking trail in snow was tiresome.
