Sam Merrill Trail to Echo Mountain, 27 July 2008
Just a quicky, earlier this week my sister, Lynn, called and said she was interested in going on a hike. I told her to meet me at the end of Lake Ave in Altadena for a hike up to the ruins of the White City resort on Echo Mountain. It's a short hike, 2.5 miles, but fairly steep. I didn't know what shape she was in. She surprised me.

wow pretty weird you have a sister who doesn't hike often! Pretty cool she went with you up there. Did you look at the incline and that giant gear?
In that pic the dirt on the top of the hills on the left is Scholl Canyon Landfill.
And the peak just to the right is Flint Peak! The Verdugos are on the right and downtown Glendale is on the other side of them. I believe those buildings are JPL.
