On Saturday Elwood, Jeff, Sean and me had planned to meet up at Eaton Saddle and check out some local peaks. Our route included hiking through the restored Tom Sloan trail and the new connector trail that leads to the old Tavern site. From there we hiked to Muir Peak and had lunch under the Ramada at Inspiration Point. After taking a nice break we headed towards the West trail up to Mt. Lowe. The weather was great for most of the day until we started heading towards Mt. Lowe. It got really hot and I suffered a bit of heat exhaustion, but I was able to cool down and rest on the summit. Thanks guys for joining me on this fun adventure.
Tres amigos.

I'll add a few more pics.
It was a great day in the mountains, lots of overcast/June gloom/clouds down below, got above them on the drive to Eaton Saddle.
Cecelia didn't mention the rattler that she managed to disturb, it was still buzzing 30 feet down the hillside after it took off across the trail. Also the bugs on top of Lowe!
I liked the Tom Sloane trail, the hard work really shows up here and I appreciate the efforts to rebuild it. Also it was great to meet Elwood in person.
Cloud cover viewed from near Mueller Tunnel. Brown Mountain from just above Tom Sloane Saddle. Arriving at Ye Olde Mountain Tavern, now known as Mt Lowe Trail Camp.
We were dragging a little bit but Elwood began to feel really inspired about here. On the OM&M trail to Muir Peak. A couple of brushy areas were on the West Mt Lowe trail.
Couldn't see the sights from any of the viewing tubes.
Last bit of snow on Baldy off in the distance behind Occidental and NotOx peak.
I made use of the swing.
