I've been wanting to check out the new connector trail that Sean and the Restoration Legacy crew completed a few months ago. This new route extends from the restored Tom Sloan Trail and is a short cut to the old Tavern site. The entire track is amazing and beautiul. Along the way views of the old Cliffe house foundation can be seen. To add, Spencers lookout is a pretty cool site to admire. After taking a break at the campground, we decided to hike to Mt Lowe. It is a very special to me because a old friend, the kindness and sweetest leader I will ever know passed away 3 years ago. I hiked this area quite often with his group and there is a special tribute to him on the summit. To our surprise there was a rattlesnake chillin under a tree where ate lunch but it didn't seem to be annoyed.
A huge chunk of the Mueller Tunnel was destroyed probably from the last storm.

We had amazing views of the clouds the entire day.

The cool rock wall that Sean built is pretty neat.

A short distance from the rock wall foundation the old Cliffe house can be viewed.

This is a small section of the really cool 40 step staircase that the crew made leads to a very low stream crossing.

The trail looks really good. I need to get out there for a visit.
