Uncle Rico's recent post about Pt. 7495 and Burrito's subsequent successful trip reminded me of another unnamed point on the south side of Middle Fork Lylte Creek. Namely PT. 7394'.
I have hiked to Point 7394 and made a video for it:
I went up th drainage from Stonehouse Crossing and down the ridge. I came down the ridge into the drainage wash on the other side. A path to the ridge needs to be defined. Once that is done there would be a cool loop from Stonehouse to Pt. 7394 to Etiwanda, to Cucamonga, to Ice House, to Middle Fork Trail back to Middlefork Trailhead.

HikeUp, I was inspired to go up that route because I am looking for a shortcut to Joe Elliot and the Cucamonga Peak Trail/Big Trees Trailhead. I’ve been working on the trail trying to cut away fallen trees. I got much of the smaller scrub oak out of the way, but the section nearest to pt. 7394 has really big trees fallen across the trail. Eventually, I plan to get a crosscut saw in there and I need a shorter path than Ice House Trailhead and easier than Etiwanda Ridge, which I did make it through last summer but the buckthorn is still thick. Other than this reason, I saw pt. 7394 when I was on the Big Tree/Cucamonga Peak Trail and wanted to bag it, and I saw the ridge going down to Middle Fork and thought it looked accessible and easy, and for the most part it is. I would like to do the whole loop next from Middlefork to pt. 7394, to Etiwanda, Cucamonga, Ice House Saddle, and back to Middlefork.
