It's still hot but I managed a half day in Anza-Borrego searching for pictographs and climbing Grunt BM. The highlight was a pair of bighorn rams, one bashing his head against to cactus to break it open and eat the juicy insides. I didn't know they did that. Link to video at the end.

According to the title of this discussion, I thought I was going to get to see bighorn chow down on cactus AND one jackrabbit!

Now that would have been amazing!

You have to sneek up on em but they're somewhat used to humans. In the summer they lose that winter coat and look like the ones you photographed.
