Another bad fire just started in the Santa Anas...

Looks like it'll take out the Holy Jim Trail, possibly more. It's already jumped parts of the Main Divide Road.

In case it hasn't been posted in a fire thread recently, here's InciWeb, fire incident 'hub' of sorts. Greatly improved from previous incarnation.

Damn shame about Holy Jim...it's a very beautiful canyon up there, very much like San Gabriels.

It might not be in Holy Jim after all. I've read that it is actually higher up Trabuco. This YT channel has some time-lapse video from Santiago Peak.

The cops say it was arson set by a guy who lives up there. When they came to arrest him, he got naked and brandished a sword.

There was a sword attack on Mt. Baldy back in 2008. See here:

HikeUp wouldn't be caught dead wearing a gold CD around his neck.

It was wild seeing the massive mushroom cloud rising above the mtns. That area surprised me with its beauty when I rode my bike along Main Divide Road from Ortega Hwy to Corona a couple years ago.

I don’t mean to be a dick, but anyone hazard a guess as to when Main Divide Road will be open again? I’ve been out of state for a while so I don’t have my finger on the pulse.

My money is on November 1. Full containment is expected on September 1. Figure one month to mop up and declare the fire out. Then another month to repair the road and stuff. That's just my wild guess. I have no special knowledge here.
