"Due to a lack of available 2017 annual Adventure Passes, Los Padres National Forest visitors using standard amenity recreation fee sites can display their expired 2016 annual passes until Feb. 28, forest officials said.
The policy also applies to the Angeles, San Bernardino and Cleveland national forests in Southern California.
People who don't have an expired 2016 annual pass can purchase a daily pass for $5. Visitors without a pass could be issued a citation. 2017 annual Adventure Pass will be available for purchase beginning March 1.
Information on valid recreation passes, such as the Adventure Pass and America the Beautiful (a National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands pass) can be found at http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/r5/passes-p ... recreation. For a list of the recreation sites at the four Southern California national forests requiring an Adventure Pass, please visit www.fs.usda.gov/adventurepass."
