The family was out of town over the Father's Day weekend so I ran to Cottonwood Lakes. What else are you gonna do? While the mice are away, the cat will play. Or something like that.

Your narrative is a gem of many facets which belie its brevity.
Splendid craft.

Fine hike and fotos, too.

BTW I hopes you weren't sleepin' in your shoes.

and as for the Septo Biker, I suspect he is trying to prove P=NP.
Justa hunch-- "A leap, you might say!"

kind regards and happy Father's Day,

Thanks brother. Much appreciated. Just happy I'm still around to partake and share the experience.

Hmm, while that is a truism for day-to-day living, hope all is A-ok, mon frere.

You've been more than generous with sharing your stories, which have value added beyond LAMe posts (another excuse for me not posting, hah). Your Muir Lake post is of a whole 'nother level, and realm.

I know my own luck bucket is *empty*, but my experience bucket is nowhere near full. Thankful to have a state of blissful secure non-attachment, tested anew with the Lake Fire.

Hike on, sir.

kind regards,

Great story about your biker friend and great shots. I'd like to get up to the Sierras more often, but enjoy living vicariously through those who do.

Nice - spent a couple of nights there a few years back. Muir Lake is one of the best places to view morning alpenglow :)
