New Tree Species?

I think I discovered a new tree species while out and about in the San Gabes today. It had very unusual fruit. Anyone come across this before?

Perhaps related to Rock Maple Acer saccharum

I also have a photo of this tree from March 2013! The blooms must last a geologically long time!
