Mt. Baldy. Always wanted to see what the fireworks shows over the Southern California basin would look like from 10,000 feet, and I wasn't disappointed.Had JD cocktails as the sun went down and it wasn't long before the light shows began. Well worth the effort of lugging all that weight to the top.

Didn't bring a tri-pod or a camera that was good for exposure shots. Watching was the main reason for being up there, but next time will be more prepared. Was a really great night with just a little wind at sunset and cool but not cold temps. The sunset was quite spectacular actually and 3 others arrived on the summit just in time to get pictures and then they took off back down the Backbone trail to the Notch.

was it super loud up there, contemplating taking a sketched out dog to get away from the noise.
Have you tried doggie ear muffs?360coaching wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 8:32 pm was it super loud up there, contemplating taking a sketched out dog to get away from the noise.
A few years back I biked up to Mt Disappointment on the 4th to meet up with Taco. It was a good place for a dog. In fact, I ran into somebody chilling with her dog on the way up. They came up to escape the noise, and were having a great time. You don't need to go very high up at all to get away from the noise
