A good outcome for an 85 year old stud on Baden-Powell.

An 85-year-old hiker spent Saturday night shivering on the side of Mt. Baden-Powell, but a sheriff's search and rescue team found him alive the next morning and loaded him into a helicopter for treatment of mild hypothermia.

Donald Buchanan of Temple City was found about 10:30 a.m. off a trail near Mt. Baden-Powell, said Deputy J. Ames of the sheriff's Palmdale station.

Ya gotta love it... 85 and he's still hittin the highways and trails !

With all this warm weather, maybe he thought it was April and headed towards the hills...

Different times and different minds but too bad the '3 Stooges above Glendora' didn't have this 'old man's sense'...

Wow, I just hope I live to 85 and can still hike anything. What an animal.

I think he may have taught us a lesson to hike prepared to spend the night. He had all the right gear so having to bivouac was not as much of an issue as it would have been had he been alpining it. and 85…fantastic!
