A very long haul, but awesome climb.

Video:

This video is full length, showing the entire chimney climb . If you're fine with class 3 or higher, just skip the video and go enjoy it.

Footwear: La Sportiva Boulder X mid GTX worked out good.

Cheers,

Steve

Holy long haul, Batman. 34 miles round trip according to your GPS track.

That is one epic day hike. Love the video of the chimney climb. Did you come down the same way?

Thanks tekewin. Like many I spent a night at Anvil Camp, and again higher up in the Williamson Bowl. Both the trail and cross-country sections have allot of going up and down through different valleys and moraines which adds up. Plus, being so extended from the trailhead in miles tends to make you want to bring a little more in shelter, clothing, food, fuel, PLB, GPS, xyz, etc… So a one-day epic hike changes from a 2-day Whitney hike to a three day Williamson hike… For most anyway.
I think Google Earth rounded up 16.4 miles to 17 miles when imported.
I came down the same Chimney. Easy enough. That video link is available, if requested.
Nice to have that 14'r out of the way. Need to go back to bag Tyndall though!

Cheers,

Steve
