Non-rescue on Baldy
We were hiking down to the Notch from Thunder Mountain Saturday about 5:30PM when two sheriff's helicopters flew up San Antonio Canyon at low altitude. They buzzed the area and circled for a while. One landed at the top of lift #2. I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures that the pilot left his aircraft. Maybe he went to the restaurant for a beer? I asked the lift operator if it was a training mission. He said some guy thought he was hurt, but then he was not. Whatever that means? Baldy looked good in the morning light at the start of the day.
