Made a dash up Icehouse yesterday to Timber. Trail is essentially clear of snow the entire way (one small patch below the saddle). Trail out to Kelly's looked like it is probably still holding some snow, but I didn't venture out that direction so can't say for certain. Baldy's bowl looks pretty much bone dry. Shared the summit of Timber with about 40 of my closest friends from one of the local hiking clubs. Lots of families enjoying the lower reaches of the canyon. Perfect day to be out in the local mountains.

Wow. I'm shocked it's that dry. I was up there...er... I think maybe 3 weeks ago now, and it totally didn't look like that :)

The snow has been melting FAST over the last couple of weeks. Damn these LA heat waves.

Was there about 3 weeks ago too. Use spikes and snowshoes towards the top. Still lots of snow on the way up to Baden-Powell as of Friday 3/15. Mostly clear to the 2 mile marker.
