Sunday 2/3 I'm wanting to hike mt wilson from chantry flats, or maybe the bridge to nowhere this sunday. ive backpacked from chantry to devore, spruce grove and hoagees before but never been up mt wilson yet, is there any ice or snow up that ways for this sunday from the storm that went through? would the bridge to nowhere many river crossings be to full with the rain and snow melt to safely cross?

thanks

I haven't been to Mt. Wilson since the storm, but you shouldn't run into much snow by Sunday I would think.

As for bridge to nowhere, you can call the San Gabriel River Ranger district later this week. They will tell you the number and deepness of crossings from the most recent report they got from hikers like you. Although this time of year it could be pretty old, so you may have better luck getting a report here.

I don't recall hearing about snowfall on Wilson during the last storm. I doubt there was much if any.

I was all over that mountain two weeks ago. If you're taking the Winter Creek or Sturtevant routes you should be fine. I encountered dangerous, angled patches of ice descending on the Rim Trail and decided to turn back rather than take extraordinary measures in my trail runners. These patches were in permanently shady spots and might still be lingering. Generally some areas of Wilson's north side had a few inches of snow remaining.
