Longest rapp was 170ft-ish or so. A 200ft rope and 200ft pullcord would be needed for this canyon. I believe we had 6 rappels. This canyon can only be done when the reservoir level is low enough to permit walking out of the mouth of the canyon and onto the OHV area. There's some healthy bushwhacking in this canyon... or there was! LOL. We took care of that. Give Patrick a Red Bull and a machete and point him downcanyon.
I don't really like giving super detailed beta on canyons, as that takes away the adventure, so what I just described is enough. I'll post up a page on CaliMountains regarding how to get there and all that later.
And yes, with more water, it would be really nice. This is another one that I spied from R39 during the rainy season... whenever that is anymore. It's worth doing again. Next people to go down need to bring machetes and clippers!
From the location of most of the PO I've come to realize that the "Hello Kitty Bag" was covered in it, the strap around my neck left a huge amount there, then under each arm where I carried it and along my mid-section where it moved back and fourth - it's not the only thing that spread it across my body but I'm certain that it carried quite a bit of it.
I might buy one of those old fashion wieght loss suits that have rubber bands around the wrist and ankles and are not that breathable - better to sweat like a pig for one day then to suffer for a week or so with this crap.
My skin is on fire - 2 hours sleep last night and that's with the medication that the doc gave me.
