Zach and I descended Upper Soldier Creek near Crystal Lake last night. Dropped in from the hike on the road at 4:15pm, finished the canyon about 2hrs later at 6 something. It's a nice little easy canyon with nice views, one rather nice 150ft or so rapp, and no bushwhacking! It's worth doing again.

We then spent the windy night at the amphitheater, which was windy and completely wrecked my sinuses so I feel pretty shitty right now.

Zach at the top of rapp 1. We couldn't find the anchor for this one, so we used my retrievable setup.

Biggest rapp. You can go canyon left to a bush anchor and it makes the 150ft'er into something like a 75ft'er or so.

Nope, but there is some decent rock in there. Not really worth the effort, though.
