I love the San Gabriels, and have made it my summer hiking home the past few years, and this year i wanted to introduce myself to some winter hiking / climbing.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or know of any groups that go up throughout the winter for this sort of thing? My end goal is i'd love to get to the top of Baldy in the winter, but i know better than to buy some gear and head up myself, as my experience in snow leaves some to be desired which is why i am here! Any suggestions or points to the right direction would be great, thank you!

Look in "Plans and Partners". At the top in the P&P subforum are a couple of threads regarding mountaineering clinics. The old thread from last season has pics and feedback etc. If you'd like to attend, reply to the new thread so I can get an accurate headcount.

Cheers!
