This is the last weekend that the cafe will remain open, after that they will close the place down along with the gate so no more an easy drive to the parking lot. When winter hits, the road gets icy and they will not bother to maintain it cause the liability issue involved.
I want to go up there one more time for the trek and also for the tasty food they serve. But this time I am brining beer! to wash down the food...
I was wondering if there is anybody interested in going. Probably go the old Mt Wilson trl. I am willing to bring some extra beer to share, it will surely make the return back more enjoyable, we'll have a hell of a time!!!! 666

The road is "maintained" year round as there are obviously alot of people/interests that need access. The problem is, yes, it gets icy and the general public has no clue how to drive on that. It's not like they are going to have chain control on that road.
