Islip Pk - Mt Hawkins

I am trying to organize a hike from Crystal Lake to Islip Pk and Mt Hawkins, I had a few questisons.
First is it about 15 mile round trip to hit both peaks, I cant find a trail report on this.
Second If i were to scale the hike back can we approced the two peaks from Hwy 2 or is still closed? I have seen the road on the West side of Dawsons saddle and it is still pretty bad looking.

I think the mileage is more like 10 to 11 miles round trip from beginning of Windy Gap Trail. Map.

I don't know status of Hwy 2 for sure, but I doubt you can drive to Islip Saddle.
