Richard,Shin and I went up to baldy today via Bear Cyn..met frank at manker who took R/R and met us at West baldy..Nice to hang with you guys and had a good time at Baldy lodge for lunch...40deg. at summit at 11am

Nice work fellas, how were the snow conditions on Bear Flat?

hey patrick, snow was from soft to slightly icey to slush..mircos stayed in pack all day..yea hope to see you somewhere some time...

thanks for the tr and pix, alan and mark. is baldy via bear flat doable without an ice axe right now? are crampons still necessary?

Winter gear is not necessary. There is still plenty of snow, but it is rapidly disappearing.
