Pot Farms in our mountains
Local authorities are not much interested in busting these until there is a big haul to boast about.
Smaller grows are not of much interest to them
you gotta be careful when venturing off trail (and on) where ever there is water.
This is especially true since 100,000 acres burned in the Station Fire and some of their favorite growing areas are off limits until the brush grows back.
The whole cow canyon area and it's tributraies are crawling with these sites

We ran into some remnants deep along the East Fork. If it wasn't for the boulder with "no tresspassing" and a fifty lb bag of fertilizer, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. These scumbags like to trash the place as well... like someone else said, you just have to roll strapped sometimes.
I was up at the end of Haven Ave today checking out a waterfall in Bull Canyon.
Almost made it to the falls when we saw brand new black pipes put in with freshly stamped grass trails.
Right when we saw that we turned tail out of there.
I guess I will wait till winter to explore some canyons now
I will notify San Bernardino Sheriff tomorrow.
Further up from Bull Canyon in Deer Canyon we also heard a Black Bear warning us to his presence too. I never heard that sound before... spooky when it is foggy out....lol
It sounded like someone blowing air through a tube then some loud clicking.

This is a thread I found on a firearms forum I frequent related to this topic.

^This is a LONG pot farm story with lots of pictures.^
There is also a book written by a Game Warden on the topic (War in the Woods).
