Not too long ago, Wild Country came out with their Helium carabiners: http://www.wildcountry.co.uk/Products/K ... rs/Helium/
A wiregate with a no-snag keylock-type design. Now, Petzl has their own:

The gate consists of a single wire instead of a looped-back wire. The Ange S (Small) biner comes in at 28 grams, only 5g more than the lightest biner out there today, the Camp Nano 23 (which I've started using, I like it). The Ange L (Large) is a larger biner, closer to what most folks are used to. Small biners like the Nano 23 aren't always the best for certain applications, since they have a smaller gate opening, which can be a pain with gloves on. The Ange L weighs 34g, 2g less than the BD Neutrino, which is a popular light/small wiregate.
I'm looking forward to trying some out as soon as they arrive in the US... and as soon as I have some extra clams to trade.
