Evil twin brother Jake. Blah blah blah...

Image
Little Sycamore Campground.

Image
Little Rock Creek crosses 5N04.3 as it begins its climb.

Image
Rather large black bear print. Jake saw a huge deposit made by this animal too. Sadly, a nearby hunter claimed to have shot and gutted it.

Image
Sulphur Springs group camp. It has seen some recent maintenance, though the spring was off or dry. Jake noted the water tank up hill a ways.

Image
Jake saw five hunters along 5N04.3 between Winston Ridge and Pinyon Flats.

Image
Saturday's dramatic clouds made for some beautiful vistas.

Image
General terrain and condition of the ridge up Bare Mountain from Pinyon Flats.

Image
Winston Ridge, as Jake saw it from the way up Bare.

Image
Pacifico Mountain, as seen from Bare Mountain.

Image
That's Santiago Canyon just beyond the ridge up to Pacifico.

Image
Summit register location on Bare Mountain.

Image
Silly Jake! Always looking to make trouble.

Image
Little Rock Reservoir, as seen from the ridge descending Bare to the north.

Image
Mount Emma and her sisters.

Image
Loooong ridge/firebreak descends Bare Mountain to Little Rock Creek Road .

Image
Looking back up the firebreak towards the summit.

Image
Looking clear across the main cut, with Jake's destination; 4N15 starting down from Alimony Ridge.

Image
Jake said if he were a MYLF, he'd live in this creek.

Image
Restrained hillside, just above Little Sycamore Campground.

Image
At least it's not a 500 lb. ursus americanus.

Image
Jake's route of choice to and from from the saddle above the "beehive" parking area on 4N14.

Image
Looking towards 4N14 and Palmdale.

blah blah blah...lol.

That's a new register book since I was there back in 4/09. Surprised it needed replacing. *shrug*

Nice hike!

I'm surprised Jake has survived the extreme danger in these areas

He must have been scared out of his wits!

Thank god the FS is protecting us

Without the danger though it seems like a nice trip indeed

Thanks to Jake for sharing (evil or not  )

Great report Jake - Tell Elwood to wear a "flak jacket"

Glad to see you are still doing the NHPS summits only 3,000 more to go in the Southern California Mnts alone

Nice pictures - sorry about being told that a balck bear was shot and gutted, that's always nice to hear during a hike - NOT

Deer I get Bear's I don't - I reserve the right to Arm Bears :D
