My parents are in town this weekend from Chicago and wanted to see mountains up close. They've never really done much hiking and have never seen mountains before... so I drove them down through Wrightwood via the 2 to Mt Wilson, up Mt Wilson, then took Big Tujunga to Angeles Forest Highway and out to Sunland.
I know its not a hike but we were able to do some good scouting. No snow up there right now. Temps were about 43-48 the whole time. Wilson was mired in fog and virtually impossible to drive on. Station fire burn areas are still breathtaking.
