Elwood:
How do you maintain the stamina for such a hike? Don't think I could do it .
Taco:
Someday you too will be able to endure extremely long hikes. Until then, you can only dream...

Looks to me like you finally got caught between a "Rock and Hardspot" with all those long distance hikes you go on

Nice work cougarmagic, nice pictures, nice sticker - well put - today I'm nursing blisters on the back of my feet - I was so out of it on Saturday night I didn't even know I had any :shock:

Patrick, you are now part of the suffering silently club!
I had blisters on my blisters after the last Skyline -- which was a surprise 'cause the boots were well broken in...

Excellent almost Gorgonio report! Any tracks or critters? We saw a Bobcat coming down towards South Fork last year.

Nope - there was enough hiker traffic that I didn't really bother looking for tracks. We met a ranger near High Camp who told us there is a herd of bighorn that's been hanging around "in the tarn" recently. But I was too embarrassed to ask him what a tarn was. So I just acted all cool-mountaineer and was like "oh yeah, well I'm going right by the tarn, so...yeah"

By the way, that punch card is AWESOME!

Will the shame of being lured to the summit of Mt Whitney by Marmot Sirens never leave me! :lol:

Have some humanity! Good God !

I live with the shame every moment of every day, and then to broadcast it to the world :cry: :cry:

But seriously... Funny Sh*@

ahh, Johanna now i understand why it took months before you would hike with me again. it seems i am everything you and your not-too-highflalutin members choose not to be. i am a Peakaholic and i admit that i have no control over it. yes my addiction has come, in fact, up to 14,508 feet between me and my loved ones. does that make you shiver in your hiking boots???? 14,508, not 14,499!!! i can stop any time i want, but i choose not to want. until then i will enjoy my life the way i have mapped it out to be and if you don't like it you can just kiss my... BIG-ASS HAM!

of course i say this all in the calming spirit of mountain love. 8)

Yes Norma, I had you pegged for a peak bagger from day one. You must realize though - NHPS members are admittedly 'style without substance', and secretly dream of high (er) places, even while putting on a good show.

One might call it an 'inferiority complex'!

My exhaustive investigation has reveled Ms Cougarmagic did in fact Summit San Gorgonio Mtn

The photo below was taken on the summit as where others a clear violation of the NHPS charter!

The shame! Claiming a NHPS peak while actually summiting! OMG! :lol:

This is what happens when you hang out with the likes of Norma & Kirk

And there ain't no Marmot Sirens on San Gorgonio Mtn

Perhaps we could start a "Peakbaggers Anonymous" chapter, with a 12 step program and all that.

Hopefully a court order won't be required!

"My name is Cougarmagic and I am a Peakbagger" I know it is difficult I too am a Peakbagger with 1019 summits of Mt Lukens alone! We all have our bad days.

Just hold your head high! One day at a time! Tomorrow is another day.

FSM loves you and will help, just remember we are powerless over peakbagging—that our lives had become unmanageable
Wikipedia wrote:A twelve-step program is a set of guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioral problems.
* admitting that one cannot control one's addiction or compulsion;
* recognizing a greater power that can give strength;
* examining past errors with the help of a sponsor (experienced member);
* making amends for these errors;
* learning to live a new life with a new code of behavior;
* helping others that suffer from the same addictions or compulsions
