Most interesting part is the sighting of a bear with three cubs. That's gotta be unusual. It seems like they're all pretty active now.

A roughly 90-pound bear that climbed into a pine tree in a residential area of Porter Ranch was tranquilized Wednesday and fell safely onto a tarp that was suspended just above ground, authorities said.
The bear was spotted about 15 feet up the tree in the 12000 block of North Stewarton Drive about 8 a.m., Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
State Department of Fish and Game crews were notified and the young bear was tranquilized and removed safely within about three hours.
In San Dimas, a black bear and her three cubs were seen late last night north of the Foothill (210) Freeway and open to the Angeles National Forest. Those bears left before animal control officers showed up.
i hiked up Santa Paula Creek to the saddle below the summit yesterday with Ron H and a friend and there were bear tracks everywhere! Big ones too! we saw more bear tracks than any other animal. i thought for sure we would run into one, but didn't.
