Awesome pictures! This was on the SGWA board last week:

The old orange ski route markers were about 5 feet above the snow surface. They are 12 feet above the ground, so the snow is about 7 feet deep there.

I tried to measure the snow depth in the middle of Little Draw (south of Mt. Jepson) at 10,000', but my 8' 7" avy probe did not reach the ground.

At the base of the first Jepson Chute (just above 10,000'), we dug a pit 5 feet deep and used the probe at the bottom. I still could not reach the ground. There is more than 13' 7" of snow there!

Thanks for posting the pix, Tracie; they sure do the day justice!
Even without my skis, it was a glorious and fun filled day in fresh deep pow. :P

And, yes, Mitch, it's sad but true.
EMan's most recent salt & pepper beard "experiment" is history.

Grateful too for the re-posting of the snow pack beta from SGWA, hvydrt.
It will be around for a long time. Yippee!

HvyDrt - thank you for the beta on the snow depth! That's a lot of snow...

Norma,

Yes it was really awesome out there yesterday. Wish I could've gotten a better shot of the moon.

I'm jonesin' for a Baldy summit...

Those photos of the wind sculpted snow drifts are classic. Beautiful.
