Bummer, I'll be in Palm Springs that weekend.
I've always been intrigued by water development in the West and especially CA; that was one big incident in the whole Mulholland/LA saga.

i was 8 years old, living in the San Fernando Valley and home with my older brother watching TV when the news of the dam collapse was being broadcast. my brother assured me that we did not live near Baldwin Hills though he didn't even know where it was. i remember looking outside the window and watching for water until my mom came home and confirmed that we were not in danger.
it was interesting to watch that video and relieve that memory.
