Wildfire Grows To 250 Acres In Southern California
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (AP) ― A Southern California wildfire has grown to 250 acres in a rugged wilderness area of Orange County.
The fire erupted about 11:30 a.m. Monday about a dozen miles northeast of San Juan Capistrano in brush-covered canyonlands close to the Cleveland National Forest.
There are no homes in the area along Ortega Highway, which connects Orange and Riverside counties.
Containment is estimated at just 10 percent.
Two firefighters have received minor injuries.
The Orange County Fire Authority says 300 firefighters, 20 engines, five helicopters and two airplanes are battling the flames.
Conditions are dry but winds are very low.
Officials say there is a downed power pole in the area but it's not clear whether that sparked the blaze.

I saw that yesterday as I was getting lunch. I looked south and couldn't tell if I was seeing smoke or haze/coastal fog.
