Some of the forest is open! Yay! But not the section of road I need to get my three unburned cameras back! Boo!

I had to hike the "hard way" up from South Fork campground almost all the way to Islip Saddle (I have such problems, I tell you) to get ONE camera. If I could drive to Islip Saddle, I could snag the others, but Nooooooo.

I saw a bear about 3 miles up the trail. It was not nearly as excited as I was, and just kept meandering up the trail ahead of me for a while, and then disappeared into the brush somewhere.

Anyway, here are the critters. The two bear cubs are the ones Gary Valle saw earlier in the summer. They're still small, but very healthy. Momma bear is HUGE and obviously well fed. Also got a bobcat, a fox, and a stressed out deer.

Oh yeah - Taco, names plz.

Momma Bear should be named Galgomar the Thirteenth, Destroyer of Forest Demons.

The cubs? Colonel McBruin of the San Gabriel Wilderness...

...and Tim.
