Three times, yeah sure....I found the REAL trip report:

The pair had run out of water and were so dehydrated they were slurring speech, couldn’t hold their heads up and were extremely fatigued, fire Capt. Ted Huber said. They had to be airlifted off the mountain and taken to local hospitals.
Authorities did not identify any of the hikers rescued Saturday.
Brand Park hiking trails can be strenuous for some people, Rifino said, and some hikers often don’t drink enough fluids during their climb.

Actually, the third time I only started because I was going to try the ridge north of the Brand Park Ridge that starts just above the cemetery. I spotted a few use trails from afar; when I went close I tried to go up one but it was quite annoying and brushy and I didn't feel like dealing with it. I think there was a better option but I was too lazy!mattmaxon wrote:Oh man! 3 times? Oy Vey!

I went from 8:30 to noon. As it got later, I saw less and less people; my third time I don't think I saw anyone. Most people realized the heat was getting worse
here's a suggestion that wouldn't involve hiking up to that cistern V3 3 times
Brand Park mega loop
It's just I've been there (V3) so many times... hundreds and hundreds. probably in excess of a 1000, but likely less than 2000. But a 1000 would be a good bet.
There is a route down Pomeroy Cyn I got Chris Brennen to write up if you have interest
http://www.dankat.com/advents/pomroy.htm
That's me on the top of the first rappel and my son Ian on rope.
Depending on your route there are a few small drops and a little low low low 3rd class scrambling
I've been meaning to go back and look for more wreckage of the C-45 that crashed in there too....Have another look around for the Cessna site too
