I am respecting Jim's right to tell this story but was unwilling to wait to start offering congratulations.

Not that I am trying to refute your comments about men. :)

I am more than pleased to provide some details. Allow me to introduce "the Littlest Hiker," :) my daughter Joyce who was born on Friday September 25th at 7:31 in the morning. At birth, she weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz (3.775 kg) and was 20" (51 cm) long.

Showing great hiking promise, her eyes brightened noticably when I showed her a 1:24,000 topo.

Maps or no maps, daddy is all smiles.

lol. I've already got a Snugli chest pack for while she's small and I've got a lager Eddie Bauer* for when she gets bigger.

Sleep? I'm not familiar with that activity. Please explain.

Prior to the baby's coming, my wife went into "nesting frenzy" to get the baby's room ready. Now that the baby is here where does she stay? In our room.

She's a fabulously wonderful little sweetie. With really good lungs.

Looks like she probably lucked out - not sharing a bday with Rumpled!

But, I do share one with Guinness on the 24th.

Jim, you crack me up!!

sleep? why?? it's more fun to just stare at the precious miracle before you. that is, until she never stops crying one day! :( but this too shall pass.

welcome to the next amazing chapter of your life!...
