Got some surplus military baselayers. Clean, never worn. I kept a few and stored these ones. They are real comfy and light, and work great as long as you keep them dry. They wick away sweat OK, not as good as modern systems, but I've got no complaints for winter mountaineering in the SG's and similar.

However, if you're not a Marine, you may freeze to death:
Primary function: Provide a moisture wicking, heat retentive, lightweight garment that keeps Marines dry and comfortable in a variety of environments.
