I had never been up here before, I just took my dog, some water, and some string cheese up to the end of the paved road. I ended up hiking the "wrong way" (not in the direction of Mt Pinos), but the point was to see some beautiful forest and get away from it all, and that's what we did.

The trail is very wide at the start, but turns to singletrack quickly

Very nice report and pictures CM. I can almost smell the forest from them. Thanks for posting and sharing.
